A project I have fond memories of is the Dean O’Shea Group. It started out as a Joe Satriani tribute act & being a big fan of Satch’s music I had no hesitation in joining. Dean is something of a guitar wizard from north Manchester (U.K) & did a great job of replicating Satriani. As time wore on however, Deans’ writing skills became the main focus. The music we recorded was high energy instrumental rock & we matched that with some pretty intense live shows, opening for the likes of Albert Lee & the Carl Palmer Band.
We recorded the “Over The City” E.P with Ollie Collins on bass & Matt Steele on keys, & later a full album in 2003/4 that also featured Guy Lightowler on bass on some tracks.
If you like instrumental guitar rock / fusion I would highly recommend checking the album out: www.reverbnation.com/deanoshea .
